This year, we have decided to book all our gynae appointments on Sat so that we can save up our annual leave for later. Yesterday was the first appointment of 2008, and also the first appointment for 3rd trimester. Our baby has officially passed the 7th month mark and now weighs 1.24kg. 1 month ago, he was only 680g, which was a tad 'lighter' compared to the statistics posted in the forum by other mothers-to-be at their 24th weeks.
Dr Tan was pleased at our baby's weight, but she wasn't pleased at my weight gain - almost a 3kg increment from last month - and wanted me to be selective of what I'm eating. Very sorry, but I need to be strict with Chinese New Year goodies. :( She did not want me to put on excessive weight for this pregnancy as anything over the 2kg limit per month will remain as my fats after delivery. It will also increase my risk of getting other complications like high blood pressure, etc.
Dr Tan tried to show us our baby's mouth moving on her U/S machine, but both of us could not make anything out of the black-and-white screen! She pointed the eyes and lips to us, but poor us, we just could stare at the screen and wonder what was what. Baby's position was still head down, but at this stage, he could still move around.
Before we left, we requested for the 4D scan and so scheduled the next visit to be on a weekday instead, as Dr Chang does not do such scans on Saturdays. :( Hopefully, we can get to preview our boy's features in the next visit! Wonder who he looks like!
