May this be a smooth, peaceful, & joyous year!

We celebrated the New Year eve by having a crabby feast at Jumbo, ECP. The above shot (last sunset of 2007) was taken while waiting for our food to arrive. We had wanted to see the fireworks as well, but the Esplanade Drive was closed to vehicles, and Mt Faber should be packed as well. With a protruding tummy, it would be hard to squeeze with the crowds. In the end, we drove to Seletar Reservoir and sat along the roadside, watching people BBQing, taking in their BBQ smoke, and enjoying the cool breeze and serenity in a less crowded part of Singapore. We didn't stay long as it was getting cold, and moreover, I had to rush home to finish my timelog (spoiler!). At 12 midnight, we heard sounds of fireworks and went to the balcony - managed to catch only a glimpse of the highest fireworks from Malaysia. Well, it was better than nothing!

A healthy meal for brand new year! We were getting sick of cooking the same old thing, and so we digged the Internet for new recipes. The above shows our dinner for 1st Jan 2008 - ABC soup, and Sweet & Sour Chicken. The chicken pieces turned out to resemble chicken nuggets, to our pleasant surprise. Except for the pineapple cubes, all ingredients were fresh and unprocessed.

Heard wind from fellow forumers that there was a Takashimaya sale going on, and so we popped by on Friday to take a look, after dinner. Hubby decided to get this Avent sterilizer (model iQ24, meaning it could keep the contents sterilized for 24hrs). Normal price was $200, and this promotional bundle was $149 and came with a box of VIA disposable cups (BPA free!) that was worth ~$30+. It can hold a couple of bottles of varying heights and there is also a 6min rapid sterilizing function.

What's new? The JL sale, again! The promotion that ended yesterday was not bad - 20% storewide for cardmembers, but the thing that attracted us was the $10 rebate in bill for $50 spent. That summed up to almost a 40% discount. What we got - Carlson baby wipes, big and small packs (because it's the cheapest brand), baby nappy liners, plastic tongs, nappy pins, a bodysuit, and 2 basic side-button shirts plus a pair of pants that sold for less than $7 after discounts. We're almost ready for our newborn!
