"Fei Zai"

Today's gynae visit must have been one of the longest-waiting for a long time. We arrived at 10.15am and waited till around noon before it was our turn. From this week onwards, Dr Tan will be doing a Strep-B test at every visit until I deliver, and baby's Daddy will no longer be invited to view the U/S images.

At 36 weeks, our baby now weighs 2.8kg (*grasp*), while I gained another 1kg over the past 2 weeks. That means the 0.5kg weight gain has all gone to our baby! At this rate, I'm beginning to worry that by my EDD, which is another 3 weeks away, our baby will be well over 3kg! That portends a tough delivery. (-.-") However, Dr mentioned that everything was normal, and I sure hope so. She reminded me again to learn to relax, if I wish to try for a natural delivery, or else it will be more painful. (I'm trying, I'm trying!)

Our baby is not yet "fully engaged", and Dr Tan said that the EDD still remains at the original estimate. Hopefully, I can endure until then because my backache is killing me at times! She also said that having BH contractions is good cos it pushes the baby downwards. By the way, baby is still in the right position with head down.

By the time we left TMC, it was already 1pm, after all the waiting for the valet service. We went down to Marina Square to check out the JL sale. We found, by chance, a pretty nice eating place called the Hotpot Culture. At $6.90 (before service charge & GST), you get a rather decent buffet spread of several dishes. It was like going to a kopitiam for economic rice but you get unlimited refills and a variety of dishes. There was green bean soup for dessert and watermelon too. The only unsatisfactory part was that the $1.80 green tea that was supposed to be unlimited refills for early birds, turned out to be a tea bag in a cup of hot water. What they meant by the refill was that they would continue to pour hot water for you without changing the tea bag. You know what that means after 2 refills, don't you?

Anyway, no time to waste! We went to JL right after lunch and grabbed a Zojiroshi 2L thermal flask for less than $50 (original price was $70+). Hubby felt that our 1.3L flask is hardly sufficient for the 2 of us at the present moment. With rising electricity costs and another mouth to feed, it is more economical to get another flask to store more hot water, instead of using the airport which requires the electricity to be on continuously.

I had wanted to get the lunch jar since there was a 20+20% sale going on. However, Hubby was right - it isn't really useful to us now - and so decided not to get it after all. What we really need now, is a soup flask, which I think can only be found in the good, old neighbourhood stores. Also, found my Tsubaki hair mask! It is almost double the price here than what I paid for in Japan. For myself, also grabbed another piece of Karmy pajamas for confinement use.

So, what did we get for our boy this time?

Tada!

This FP baby piano has received good review from hubby's friend. Since it's now at 20+20% off, it is too hard to resist from buying one home for our boy! The rattle ball is selling for $9+ originally, but this promotional package comes with door guards and also a teether, all for another $1.

The nursery dept isn't on sale now, but thankfully, we don't really have much left to buy at this stage. And, strangely, many FP toys were not displayed on the shelves during this sale. And, the Zoji magic cooker that we had wanted to get was not sighted too! HMMM....
